Division Director - Clinical Laboratory 

Springfield, IL

Provide administrative oversight of the Service Line, including general oversight of the clinical department personnel and day-to-day operations.  The Administrator shall work in collaboration with the Assistant Administrator and Medical Director of the service line in the areas of:

·         Day-to-day outpatient and inpatient operations

·         Strategic Planning

·         Service development and marketing

·         Stakeholder service and operations quality

Directs, supervises, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates clinical and operational activities of the Laboratory and Laboratory outreach services to ensure competency in performance and quality outcomes.

Requirements:

·         Minimum of 5 years experience as a Medical Technologist, ASCP registration in Medical Technology or equivalent.

·         Minimum of four years experience as a laboratory supervisor.

·         Master’s degree in laboratory sciences (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.), business or healthcare related field required.

·         Possess listening and communication skills (both oral and written), decision making and problem solving techniques and the ability to handle stressful situations.

·         Must keep abreast of new clinical laboratory trends and make effective recommendations for implementation of innovations as necessary.

·         Possess effective leadership skills.

·         Knowledgeable of state and federal laws and hospital and divisional/departmental policies, procedures and directives.
