Manager Compensation, Benefits and HRIS
Location: Wadsworth, TX
Salary: $135k & bonus
Relocation provided
Our client is a major energy producer in the state of Texas.
Provide management direction in the development, coordination and administration
of Human Resources programs including Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, and Fitness for Duty and Health Services.
Position Reports To: Director Human Resources
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the effectiveness
of compensation programs in order to make recommendations for change.
- Ensure that compensation practices
and programs remain competitive to attract, retain and motivate employees.
- Responsible for all Executive
Incentive Compensation and Deferred Compensation Programs.
- Manage all aspects of the
planning and administration of employee benefit programs to ensure employee satisfaction as well as to minimize company costs.
- Manage compliance and legal
requirements for ERISA plans, including but not limited to, plan audits, 5500’s SPD’s and plan documentation.
- Manage the pension planning
activities for the company including oversight of investment managers, pension accounting and payment schedules. Responsible for the development of the flexible benefit plans, prices and credits.
- Responsible for negotiating
benefit plan enhancements, associated costs and funding arrangements.
- Manages the utilization and
report production of the Human Resources Information System.
- Manage the activities of the
Health services section including Medical, Workers Compensation, Restricted Duty Program, Wellness Program, Continued Behavior
Observation Program and Fitness for Duty Program.
- Ensure all programs within
scope of responsibility comply with applicable federal, state and regulatory laws and/or regulations.
- Prepare/edit reports and presentations
for the Board of Directors and upper management.
- Identify, evaluate and implement
emerging human resources trends and products to assist company in maintaining a competitive position in the market.
- Perform personnel activities
for division employees (performance appraisals, job descriptions, discipline, employee development plans, counseling, hiring).
- Budgets for ongoing and future
expenses and monitors budget performance.
- Act in assigned position for
Emergency Response Organization as required.
- Develops models and analysis
to support union negotiations.
- Accept outage position as
needed.
Education
Bachelors’ degree, preferably in business administration or human resources
management.
Experience
- Ten years experience in a
professional level human resources position.
- Three of the ten years should
be benefits administration and compensation administration.
- Three years supervisory or
management experience required.
- PHR, SPHR, CCP or CBP certification
preferred.
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of FLSA,
ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, retirement plans and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively
with all levels of employees verbally and in writing.
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to provide advisory
assistance to executive management.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft (Compensation & Benefits).
- Knowledge of advanced mathematics
and the ability to perform statistical computations.
- Ability to comprehend Company
goals and objectives, organizational structure, policies, procedures and practices.
- Ability to analyze difficult
problems, present effective solutions and anticipate future consequences.
- Proven project management
and time management skills
- Sensitivity to emerging issues,
both internal and external which may impact the Company
- Ability to handle sensitive
information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to influence others
towards action or a particular point of view.
- Utility experience highly desirable.
- Shared Services experience highly desirable
